He's the husband of Lady Penh — yes, the one who founded the city after finding some relics on a hill. She built Phnom Penh out of divine intervention and stubbornness. He got stuck with event listings. Then the event listings got stuck with him. And then, somehow, everything else followed.

Lord Penh is independent, editorially compiled, and running more projects than any sensible person would attempt without venture capital or a therapist.

The Legacy

Lady Penh ran the online event guide for Phnom Penh between 2008 and 2016. She even made it into print with 3,000 copies per week as Lady Penh presents This Week in Phnom Penh in her final years. For eight years, she was the answer to "what's actually happening in this city tonight?" that didn't involve your friend's cousin's bar.

Lady Penh retired in 2016. She earned it. Lord Penh took a long break too, until it became clear the city kept moving and someone should still be keeping track. So here we are again.

The Comeback (and Then Some)

Lord Penh relaunched in 2025 because Phnom Penh never stopped having things worth going to, and finding them had become unnecessarily hard. What started as a simple event guide grew into something larger — not by design, but because a few useful things didn't exist yet and building them seemed more fun than waiting.

What Lord Penh Does

The original. Lord Penh lists events in Phnom Penh worth your time: concerts, live shows, art exhibitions, film screenings, markets, workshops, and the occasional thing that defies categorisation. No algorithm. No sponsored placements. No pivot to video. No Stories. Just a straightforward list of what's on, when it's on, and you decide whether it's worth leaving the house for.

What you won't find here: paid recommendations dressed up as editorial, or anything involving the words "immersive" and "blockchain" in the same sentence.

Everything is hand-picked. If it's listed, Lord Penh thought it was worth your attention.

The Lord Penh Universe

A few other projects grew out of the same idea — that if something useful is missing from this city, Lord Penh may as well build it.
